Every year, the Town of Essex, Vermont invites program funding requests from nonprofits who support the delivery of vital community services. Using a range of resources, the Essex Selectboard determines specific focus areas as human service priorities for the most vulnerable residents of the Essex community.
February 16, 2020: Applications for FY20 Essex Human Services funding are no longer being accepted. The review team has started the scoring process. Announcements will be made by June 2020.
March 3, 2020: The FY21 Budget in the amount of $153,322 for Essex Human Services Funding was approved by voters. Awards for FY21 funds will be made in May 2021.
May 20, 2019: FY19 Essex Human Services Funding allocations were awarded. The Town of Essex provided $143,454 in funds to local nonprofits.
March 5, 2019: The FY20 Budget in the amount of $148,306 for Essex Human Services Funding was approved by voters. Awards for FY20 will be made in May 2020.

Local area social, health and human services organizations who serve Essex residents are encouraged to apply to the Town of Essex for funding. Only those that are non-profit organizations who are considered a 501 (c)3 or that file an annual Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990 tax return are eligible. All funding proposals must align with the Essex Human Services Focus Areas.
