Mission

The Zoning Board of Adjustment is composed of five members who are appointed by the Selectboard for three year terms. The purpose of the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA)  is to hear appeals of decisions rendered by the zoning administrator; reviews conditional use and variance requests, as well as unspecified uses on a property. Conditional Use is to ensure that a proposal fits within a specific area; a variance allows for possible flexibility from the zoning regulation requirements; and an unspecified use allows for a special exception that is not defined in the Zoning Regulations.   The ZBA meets on the 1st Thursday of the month, usually from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  In order for the meeting to occur, a quorum of 3 members must be in attendance.   The Zoning Administrator staffs the ZBA for these meetings.
