Everyone loves to play with Legos. Each week, an AEP staff member will present the participants with a set of challenges such as the Blind Build, Amazing Mazes, the Name Game, or Musical Monsters. NO CLASS JANUARY 18.

Hiawatha students are welcome but must provide their own transportation.

This is an introductory strength and conditioning class that is specifically designed with 4th and 5th-grade students in mind. This comprehensive class is perfect for improving coordination, balance, agility, and ultimately athletic performance. Participants will come out of this class with faster feet, better coordination, improved agility, and a whole lot of smiles. NO CLASS JANUARY 18.

Continue the programming fun with BeatBot Battle and program a robot to make it dance. Create fun musical projects and minigames with a variety of instruments and tempos. Learn about sequencing, patterns, and logic to prepare you to go on a mission to navigate Red Baron’s Adventure through the desert collecting medals.

Sawmill Studio has created 5 kits for students to build, including a working pinball game. Our AEP instructor will guide students through the building process by following along with Sawmill Studio’s step-by-step instructions on YouTube and your child will bring home projects they are proud to have made.

Calling all thrill-seekers. MetroRock’s five-week climbing and adventure program is the place to be. With 16,000 square feet of climbing and a high ropes adventure course with over 20 different elements, the possibilities are endless. Join us as your child builds confidence, makes new friends, stays active, and has a blast. *An additional waiver is required.*

Middle School Programs

Middle School Enrichment programs for this session will meet at Maple Street Park (MetroRock) or the Senior Center (Mathematical Art). Students will be provided transportation to and from off-site programs. Students should arrange to walk home or be picked up at the conclusion of the program.

Essex Elementary School Math Through Art teacher Ms. Nancy is offering this geometric drawing workshop for middle school students. With the use of compasses and rulers, the participants will be guided step-by-step through the drawing of geometric forms and shapes that they will color and decorate according to their own unique creativity.
