Essex Celebrates Small Business Saturday!Shop Eat Support Local in Essex

Small Business Saturday is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the last weekend in November of each year and encourages holiday shoppers to patronize small local businesses. 

Brief History

First observed in 2010, Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in partnership with the non-profit National Trust for Historic Preservation, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and Roslindale Village Main Street. Years later, many small business groups issued proclamations and social media advertising under the hashtag #smallbusinesssaturday.
